  I'm glad I waited a decade to write this. G&SD has stepped up their game.
  
  We visited multiple times in the past out of convenience. Simple breakfast at simple pricing. Everything seemed to have a glaze of sticky or greasy. Everything! Some colorful reviews and a zest for second chances brought us back in March 2019. Exterior looks identical. Small rubble side lots. Tattered canopies. Burned out lights.
  Inside was immediately different. The smell of unclean was gone. Tables, chairs, booths, wood paneling, and menus were clean of that long ago glaze. Somebody has been cleaning very regularly. Our menu was stained with coffee spill, inside the plastic sleeve. Yet the sleeve was clean, and tacky free.
  In addition to the regular menu is a Specials menu(see photo). This was new to our previous visits. Very interesting and creative options. Our server was friendly and mildly attentive. She answered some questions, and recommended the hash as homemade. I was skeptical, seeing another diners plate. The owner later told me no, it was from a tube, made by Falter Meats.
  I chose outside my normal, and went with the Salmon and Eggs(see photo). I first sent my over cooked eggs back. Then I exchanged the entire meal for the hash breakfast. The salmon patties were not hand pattied, but over processed, under seasoned, and mushy. The hollandaise was separating and not good. After that disappointment, I was rewarded with the fore mentioned hash tube, skillet fried. I wish I did not have to ask multiple servers to refill my coffee cup from a service station directly behind my head. She was just not as attentive, that refill customers require. When the coffee pot is in your hand at breakfast, hit every table until that pot is empty.
  
  *SUMMARY*
  I spoke to an owner of 35+yrs at the register. She was very welcoming to my praise of the cleanliness, and menu specials. We spoke about my menu selection disappointments. We will return, but I will definitely speak with her first before ordering. She was very truthful about the canned, processed, and fresh items. Kudo's for progressing forward into more creative menu choices. Please keep going forward on homemade fresh ingredient options.

  I am giving this rating simply for the initial experience. The waiter was super nice and fat 4 so it's unfair to him but my overall experience was ruined near the end of my visit today.
  
  I came in for bfast with my fam as I've passed this place several times and wanted to try.  
  It's a cash only, small dinner located Whitehall. My order was wrong when I received it but was rectified with no hesitation. So no biggie the. Small diner, plenty seating, good parking.
  One SINGLE bathroom IN THE KITCHEN!! Screams UNSANITARY.
  
  Flies in the window and ROACHES!! Yes,0 mama and baby roach CHILLING in the bathroom!!
  
  I was forced to use the restroom because my baby absolutely had to. I could've sneezed and ALL the food would've been blessed with the extract. ‍‍
  I wanted to vomit , not pay and walk out with a GRAND announcement to everyone eating because cleanliness is THE most important thing with food. I don't understand why this isn't important.
  
  Of course I will NOT be returning.

  I went to go visit a friend and they recommended me to come to this place. They also gave me the heads-up that the diner was a bit old school and only accepts cash. I was greeted with a smile upon entry and was told that I can sit wherever I liked. I ordered turkey sausage, scrambled eggs and a biscuit with honey and jam per my request. The food was good and reasonably priced. My waitress was attentive and respectful. I can definitely see myself going back there to have breakfast again sometime soon.

  I really had high expectations for this place and had been waiting to get to try it. Unfortunately it did not lead up to what I had hoped for a small cash only dive diner. The menu had many options for breakfast and the specials were of a good variety. We had a French toast combo, a pancake combo, and the special peanut butter banana French toast with bacon. The pancakes were completely flat and over cooked, dry. We didn't even finish them. Both plates of French toast were severed with moldy bread and sent back. Though new food was prepared one person had their full meal one had half their meal and one had no food for quite some time. The serving were average but the quantity and price were not on par. They did give us free coffee for the moldy food. I guess that was something but not enough. We won't be going back.

  Another delicious meal served at Grill&Skillet! This morning I ordered a breakfast sandwich on Jewish rye toast! It came with bacon and a egg which both were done perfectly! I ordered the grits instead of hash browns as my side. Grits were temperature hot and delicious! Service was fast and friendly!
